Expert at taking a strategic vision and turning it into manageable, deliverable projects, Janet works as a freelance consultant trainer for the National Governance Association, providing bespoke support and training for governing boards and delivering training for the NGA Inspiring Governance programme in the North West region.

Alison is a partner in the corporate team of DTM Legal LLP, a commercial law firm with offices in Chester and Liverpool. Recommended in the last 6 editions of the Legal 500 and noted as being a “first class lawyer with strong commercial acumen”, Alison has more than 15 years’ experience advising businesses of all shapes and sizes and enjoys helping her clients to put in place and maintain a structure and legal framework to promote success and growth in a way that works for them. Her clients include a number of charities and not for profit organisations and Alison is also DTM Legal LLP’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (“COLP”) responsible for ensuring that the firm complies with its regulatory obligations. Alison has two children at Boughton Heath Academy.

Janet is an HR professional with over 20years experience working with both blue chip and SME businesses. Most recently operating at leadership level within professional services organisations, she is a specialist in talent management and people development with a long held interest in the connectivity between education and employment.


Martin Huber

Martin was appointed to the role of Trustee in January 2017 following a 34 year career in banking. A strong background in risk management, Martin has undertaken a number of senior leadership roles and has extensive experience of business turnaround, restructuring and delivering change. He is currently a Restructuring and Risk executive with a local investment bank and a Subject Matter Expert with the Chartered Banker publication. His wider community experience includes a commitment to and a recognition of, the value of local sport, particularly to children. Martin is a keen supporter, past treasurer and current first team manager of Chester Boughton Hall C.C. and presently sits on the Executive Committee at Chester Rugby Club with responsibility for Projects.

Rob Hughes

Rob is a Chartered Accountant, qualifying with Deloitte before moving into industry roles in SMEs and larger corporate entities.  He has experience in audit, corporate finance and investor relations and is Finance Director at a manufacturing company, Kawneer UK, based in Runcorn.  Rob has three children, two of which currently attend Boughton Heath Academy.


Peter Woodhouse

Peter has a professional background in planning, property development and urban regeneration having worked in the public and private sectors and as a freelance consultant. Experienced in strategy and visioning he also focuses on implementation through strong programme and project management.

Peter served as a governor in a primary school for 7 years of which he was Chair for 4 years during which time he oversaw significant changes to the management of the school and in outcomes for children. The Governing Body work was recognised by the NGA through an Outstanding Governance Award in 2019.
